Organization and Management

A business should consistently revisit its current plan of action for success for how the company leadership would be broken down. In doing so, the company leaders should come together and decide how the company structure should be formed. A company structure is required for the creation of positions that you would not normally see in a normal company. These positions and the need for them should be included in the companies original business plan, in which, we at Seven World suggest be revised every three to five years.

There are many methods to communicate and exchange information, but the distribution channels can sometimes lack the knowledge needed to completely deliver any changes. As we know technology has become one of the leading methods to effectively communicate information. The communication channels can be via email, phone, blogs, or social media. Although, these channels exist and are being used, are they being used to their full potential to help aid in the matter of knowledge management (KM). Based on research provided by (Adams, 2016) “The Relationship Between Transformational Leadership and Knowledge Management in the Public Sector” leaders are expected to provide top notch service with very little resources or know how to do so.

As many may know this is an ongoing problem in not just the public sector, but in the private sectors as well. This report will explain the direct need for strategic planning through innovative minds, to help improve knowledge management on a global level through strong leadership with the use of technology. It is my belief that innovation plays a key role in knowledge management (KM) as you need this to help you create strategic methods to obtain, store, and deliver information. The methods for creating and delivering the knowledge management (KM) collective through strategizing and innovation have to be generated and distributed through strong leadership in which technology aids this process.

Relative Information

As there are avenues that are needed to be followed in order to ensure that knowledge management (KM) is and its processes are effectively, there are many multidisciplinary avenues that lead back to this topic. First, there is the strategic method in which allows you to create processes for obtaining, storing, and sharing knowledge within the organization. Since knowledge management (KM) is a indispensable sector for operations of a company, it is like a child, it is deemed to grow as it is shared in which makes it completely usable within the business (Silva, Leal, Marques, & Ferreira, 2017). It is explained that in order to establish a strong network that would be useful and helpful to the growth of a company, you need to establish essential and competitive advantages.  Next, we link innovation to the knowledge management in which innovation is a supportive key factor within the development of the knowledge management procedures. (Donate, & Guadamillas, 2011) provides details and research to show the relationship between knowledge management and the elements of organization such as culture, leadership, innovation, and HR practices.

Another factor that has to be considered in the knowledge management (KM) is leadership. As many of us know leadership plays the most imperative role in any organization and any process to help the organization grow. Leaders must understand that there is a direct connection and relationship between knowledge management (KM) and transformational leadership (Adams, 2016). In the new age of business leaders have to navigate the many different avenues and challenges of an ever-changing economy that combines with ever-changing cultures. It is leadership that will lead and a team and generally work with the team to create new methods to help the business operate and grow. The knowledge management (KM) methods created have to have a place and method to which they will be distributed.

Methods of distribution come in many different forms, but technology plays a key factor in that process as well. Since we are now in a age where technology is the main source for distributing information as a means to not use so much paper and keep from killing more trees, we look at the technological channels. Technological channels can be via websites, emails, phones, blogs, or social media to help communicate in change management (CM) processes that are developed via knowledge management (KM). (Rowe 2013) shares information done from a research study presented by (Morris & Loch, 2004) that it quite difficult to transfer knowledge from learning projects to the organization. It also states, that it even more difficult to transfer that knowledge back. Using technology to communicate knowledge management is very effective, but the methods in which the information is communicated have to be strategically planned and thought out. If we are looking at this from a global perspective, not having the right leadership to lead a team of innovators to strategize and create the proper knowledge management (KM) methods can cause a global meltdown. The communication channels would fail and the information that was to be distributed would intern not be communicated properly and even harder to completely fix once the wrong methods are out there.

Themes, Main Ideas, Key Points

Themes. The basis behind my research topic is to show the direct connection and need for strong leadership in order to properly strategize with a team of strong innovators, to help build a strong sustainable method for communicating knowledge management (KM) on any level. The themes I have chosen combine the methods and research practices needed to determine and explain the best ways to incorporate and explain the link between Knowledge Management, Strategy, Innovation, Leadership and Technology and how they are all needed in 2019 to help aid in gathering, sustaining, and distributing knowledge. In a world like today there is clarification for the role of knowledge management (KM) and how it aids in addressing complexity via innovation (Marina, 2007).

Main Ideas. The main ideas relate to my argument that in order for knowledge management to work there are many key factors that come together to help it work properly. “Knowledge management is frequently considered as a source of competitive advantage for companies in turbulent markets” (Martínez-Costa, Jimenéz-Jimenéz, & Sanz-Valle, 2013). I find this to be a true saying as it relates to the very fact that in order to have the competitive advantage, you must have (1) out standing leadership that is both knowledgeable and willing to listen as well as share information. (2) the leader(s) need to be innovative and have a team of innovators that will help build and establish a cause and effect method as to how the knowledge will be obtained, sustained, and distributed. The distribution method is vital to ensure that it reaches everyone properly and that the understand the method in which it will be followed. (3) The leader and the team of innovators must come together to strategize and create the doorway for the knowledge management (KM). (4) Technology which in this time plays a key role in developing manageable methods for sustaining and distributing knowledge created and gathered.

The main ideas also reflect on the implications that can come from problems with sustainability via competitive processes through creation of policy. (Ordóñez de Pablos & Lytras, 2018). This study covers the topic of debates about the challenges that companies face while trying to establish knowledge management (KM) procedures. As we know when any organization changes procedures or creates new procedures, there are going to be those who will not be happy with the change. There should be a process in which the knowledge management (KM) changes or the establishment of it are introduced.

Key Points. There are many key factors that are incorporated in the scholarly articles and peer-reviewed documents I have chosen to use for my project, but the each of these documents all reflect the different avenues needed to create a strong knowledge management system (KM). There is the main sector of knowledge management (KM) development and it starts with the leaders. The leaders will build the innovation methods through the team the pull together in which both the leader and team will come together to create a strategic plan and method for gathering information and distributing it to the organization. The communication methods will be via technological channels which are now a leading method for distributing information. I will show the connection and how each play an important role for knowledge management (KM) and are needed in order for the methods to be created and actually work.
